Rules for Writing External Articles

1)    Decide for which web site and which web page you are going to link this article to as you want to link to related articles only if not to home page. Also go though the meta tags of that corresponding page so that you can use that as a core theme in the upcoming external article.

2)    Decide by Googling which article site you are going to post the article and make sure to go through their rules and their hyperlink policy etc. So that you can exactly make your article in a way that is perfect for that article site. Make sure this article site have high PR (more that 5) and doesn’t have no NF next to it (No Follow). You can also find this using SEO Quake. If you don’t know check with your supervisor. Make sure to check some of their popular articles in the area you are interested in to learn what kind of articles are getting approved and attracting traffic and follow the similar steps.

3)    Once you decided the keyword(s) then you can open your KA (Keyword Advantage) and click on the content tab and enter that keyword and pull the related articles for that keyword from multiple sources.

4)    Open more articles from the collected once from the KA and collect the interesting lines and put on a word doc.

5)    Google the keyword(s) you want to target and go through top 5 to 10 listings to see what kind of articles are getting the top listing for that keywords and see if any good pointers can be learned or adopted from those listings and if so mark on the word doc where you are collecting the data for this article.

6)    To get approved in the article directory make sure your article meets the following guidelines.

a)    Article should be useful to the reader

b)    Article should provide in depth understanding

c)    Article should have the right flow of information and presentation

d)    Article error free in terms of spelling and grammar

e)    Article should be fully checked using to make sure the article has been rewritten for not being a copy cat

f)     After placing the content in right sequence you can also use to get the article rewritten. Always check for grammar and spelling and presentation after these activities.

g)    Article must follow all the standards including the number of words (length) and all other aspects as requested by the article site in their terms and conditions.

h)   Make sure that you are giving the links in the 75:25 ratios. 75% for different internal pages and 25% for Home page and the exact domain

i)     Always follow the 70-20-10 formula by having

  1. 70% keywords, anchor text, synonyms, vaired keywords
  2.  20% – Key phrase i.e., it contains at least one keyword. (eg. If keyword is heart rate monitor, the anchor text will be “For more information on heart rate monitor, please click here.”)
  3. 10% – bio links, exact url.

7)    You can get your article approved by your supervisor and then post it in the article site you want to post and track to make sure it is approved and then report in your Google docs and in your weekly updates.

8)    Always the easiest way to get your articles approved in the article site is following all the above points and also making sure you are adding value with your article to that article site. Never post a copied article not even a copy of your own article.

9) We can write external articles in different user names that is appropriate for that kind of article as man/woman etc.
